Gathering of Community Gardens
.
Gathering of Community Gardens at the North Hollywood High School garden, Saturday, October 25, from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
All participants should be affiliated with a community garden. The objective for this event is to build stronger relationships among gardeners.
The picnic is FREE, kid-friendly, with opportunities for you to mingle and talk shop with other gardeners; fun, informative and casual, a county wide picnic of gardeners from all over L.A.
It will also be a "low waste" event, so you are asked to bring your own plate, utensils and tote-bag to carry away waste. The gathering will be limited to 200 persons, so you must register at LACGC's web site: www.lagardencouncil.org. You must also register each person coming with you. Please email Rachael (freshrachael at gmail dot com) for the registration password.
Directions to North Hollywood High School Community Garden are posted on the web site.

Garden Swap
.
Cultivating Sustainable Communities (CSC) is launching its newest project. GardenSwap is an opportunity to pair up urban gardeners with their neighbors who have yard space in order to grow and share in the profits of urban food gardens.
Urban gardens are not only fun; they support low-carbon food production, create economic development, inspire healthful eating, build community, create opporunities for education, address watershed health concerns, create productive green open space, and beautify communities.
CSC is currently taking requests for participation in this program. If you'd like to participate either as a gardener or a land owner who is willing to share yard space (and some garden profits!) with a neighbor (we'll help you find a neighbor), please contact me at gabriela@cscommunities.org.
Please forward this info to Los Angeles residents who may be interested in participating.
